Green Rural Immersion Madagascar (GREEN RIM) is the fruition of a visionary project called FM3A (Farm Management with Agroecology for Rural Autonomy), a project initiated by the Farming & Technology for Africa (FTA) which took root in 2020. As the project unfolded, the initiators discovered hidden gems, breathtaking and unexplored places, both by Malagasy people themselves and foreigners. The core objectives of FM3A is to educate and empower individuals to become food self-sufficient, nutritionally aware, financially autonomous, and environmentally conscious, and this can be achieved with GREEN RIM.
The idea sprouted to develop an ecotourism activity that would offer rural immersion experiences, not only for Malagasy locals but also for foreigners seeking to explore the wonders of Madagascar. Thanks to the generous support from Aqua Alimenta, the funder of the FM3A project, GREEN RIM gained momentum in 2022. Rural trainings commenced, ecotourism partnerships were forged, and infrastructure began to take shape.
Although the project is still a work in progress, with 3 initial sites being established, it embodies an innovative approach where development and ecotourism coexist harmoniously. GREEN RIM envisions a long-lasting initiative that benefits local communities, visitors, and the planet alike.
Join us on this transformative journey as we pave the way towards a sustainable future, one immersive experience at a time.
